Vision Dream Board

dream board

I say, "Fake it till I make it"
My vision is dreamy, I admit
Will I be able to submit
Can I perform and commit?

I will do it, not just try
Little by little, I'll get by
I will be strong and won't cry
I will get help from up high

My dream board is pure, I am sure
Am I strong enough or mature?
I have my doubts and feel unsure
But each day I smile, and say, "Bonjour"

Join us in ABC Wednesday.
The letter this week is V.

Labels of Thanks

  1. Nail Party (puts smiles on my nails and helps a friend make sales).
  2.  Breaded Mushrooms (frozen foods feed my family when I'm busy).
  3. Basketball. Son's basketball season started and keeps him busy.
  4. Beer. Just rootbeer, my fave drink.
  5. Frozen Foods. More of it.
  6. Free Breakfast. Who can complain about free meal at work?
  7. Cold Patio. I was eating hotcakes inside while looking out  the cold patio. It reminds me to be thankful for the warmth and to pray for the hungry and cold.
  8. Finish. Game over. My son's team won 26-16.
  9. RIP. The label that hit my family hard. Two days in the hospital for my dad we thought was healthy. He did not suffer long.
  10. Old Picture. Reminding me to love the people who are remaining.
We are still lucky. Let us share our love in
our home, outside our home, in our country, and the people who are suffering overseas.

Peace.

What to Do After a Hectic Day at Work

Manger

It has been the busiest day, last Sunday, as day after our big move from our old hospital to the next. We moved last December 13, 2014. I know, what a period of the year to move, right? I don’t understand the day selection but there we go.

Denver Downtown, a view closer,
when I actually stepped out
the car.
The day of the move went smoothly (we were overstaffed) but after that (even if still overstaffed), I would lie if I say the experience has not been difficult.  I am stressed for having everything new—the bed, the monitors, the call light system, the alarm system . . .  You'd think it should not matter much, but it does.  Too much of a new thing is overwhelming to me.

De-stressors that you can do

Change your scene to de-stress.

I do this in two ways.  I take my break, not in the nurses lounge anymore, but downstairs in the cafeteria overlooking the patio.  (It is too cold to be out there.  Just the imagination that I was out there refreshed me).  The noise from the call lights and bed alarms (attached to the our new lounge) served as torture to my ears, so I had to remove myself.

Pray For Us Caregivers, the Sick, and the Injured

A
s some of us get busy daily routine and with wrapping gifts for loved ones this Advent season, let us pause to prepare for the birth of Jesus Christ, and offer prayers for peace and healing this week, again, for the sick, injured, and caregivers.  Caregivers, hmm . . . that’s me.  The sick . . . my teens can qualify for this.  They have a severe case of teen-itis. (Apparently, it is highly contagious as my daughter picked it up from my son).

prayer, parenting blog, nurse blog

It is Monday again.  We have a new prayer this week. Nurses, and all friends, please help me encourage more people to join in 100 Days of Prayer.

How to Handle a Bad Day From Parenting Teens

I
You Tube mass today.
t is one of those days on my difficult parenting-my-teens life.  I feel like I am going nowhere managing my teens.  Some parents who my teens hangout with imply I am too strict.

Why? I think it is because I give consequences for misbehavior and violation of rules. What are my rules?

Rules for Teens

  • Not drinking alcohol as a habit
  • Refraining from smoking in any form
  • Going to school regularly
  • Going home before curfew

100 Days of Prayer For the Sick, Injured, and Caregivers

Join 100 Days of Prayer

I receive several mails unrelated to work daily.  Most of which, I ignore.  However, this one caught my attention and I actually participated.
