Nurse's Heart

Caring, cheering, healing, feeling
She/He feels the pain the you are in
She gives you more than just aspirin
Or tissue to wipe your tears with

She gives you attention despite her busy profession
She speaks to you close to get a connection
She listens and serve you with her heart
For her, you're not just a name on the chart

This week is Nurse's Week
If you have time, please greet
Deserving nurse that you come across and meet
You'll add a flavor to their day that's sweet

Do you have a post or picture that can make the readers "Aww?"Link to Sandee's "Aww Monday" here.

Theo

therapy dog, volunteer dog
Theo, the therapy dog with his Hospital Volunteer ID

Meet Theo, one of our therapy dogs
However big, he's very cute
He walks along the long hallways
As instructed, stops at each doorway
Greeting staff to lift the weight
Of heavy loads they have that day

He wags his tail to whoever looks
"Pay attention to me because I'm cute."
He also puts a smile on family's faces
And erases frowns on some patients' faces

Another Cold Day

You know it is cold when outdoor-loving Velvet asks to go back inside the house. Normally, I have to call her many times to go back in but not this time. With some snow flakes on her Velvety thin coat, she begged to go inside. Back inside, I gave her and Wally pieces of home-baked bread fresh from the oven. The oven helps heat up our house too.

The other night, we skipped going to Pho 95 for our Pho fix in laziness to go out in the snow, or we'd like to say we wanted to stay safe and not drive in the snow. We were still craving for something hot so I fixed us some quesadilla prepared from iron skillet and easy boxed-mushroom soup. They all just hit the spot.

The mushroom soup reminds me of my life before kids. I was single and lazy. When I wanted soup, I opened a can and mix the contents with water or milk. I loved the Campbells mushroom and celery soup then. Those are the soup I usually kept in stock along with Chunky Hearty Chicken soup. I called them meals in a cold day when I was living in foggy San Francisco. But back then, making my own bread was beyond my dreams. And I had no dogs to share the baked goods with.

Oh yeah, I stole the link from Sandee at Comedy Plus. If you have “Aww” photos to share, you can link down here.

Velvet and the Duck

She likes her new duck toy very much.

In the park, she often ignores the real-life birds.
