There is Beauty in the Cold

1
Another year, another beginning
I started the year with forgiving
forgetting, starting over, and thanksgiving

2
There is beauty in the cold
The frozen pond
However rigid, I'm not fond

3
When it's cold, we stay indoors
In this gym, my daughter soars
Jumping to hit that volleyball
She's short, not tall
But, up high, she can reach that ball

4
Home cooked meal
Adds some heat in the house
And with some help of a cookbook
I could whipped up a course
That is so good, of course

5
What is as good as a flower bouquet
But an edible fruit bouquet
It sure brightens our day
With its delicious and refreshing way
In the hospital we enjoyed yesterday

6
Back with the cold
And frost on my windshield
Thank goodness for heat
Even with no heated seat

7
I went to Sprouts on grand opening day
I did not mind the delay
On that busy Wednesday
For I won a $25-worth of products
After spending only 10-bucks

8
Beyond the images and all
There are some things I am thankful for
After my son declared a war from me last fall
He did not live with me for five long weeks
He is finally captured and in juvenile hall
And now that he's there
He'd at least give me a call

9
I am also thankful that my other teen
My daughter who's sixteen
Was safe after disappearing one night
She is quite alright

10
The circumstances are never perfect
I can say my parenting life is a wreck
But I can also say, what the heck
We had a bad day
Tomorrow is another beginning
I can feel better meditating, praying, and hoping.

May God give me more guidance and patience.
TTOT, thankful post, thankful blog, motivation, parenting teen

An Easy Way to Motivate Yourself to Fitness

Are you feeling lazy to do any type of fitness activity this year?  Do you need a motivation?

If you need a little push and motivation here it is. Check out the app on the right side.  The RunKeeper is holding a 17-day fitness challenge. All you have to do if track your activities between today through January 31 and get in 180 minutes.

Why do I recommend the 17-day fitness challenge?

I have ten reasons why I encourage you to do this challenge.

  1. It is easy.  You can pretty much do a variety of activity with the use of your phone GPS or not.
  2. You can win a price valued at $500.  OK, I don’t know what it is but there is a price.  And for one thing, isn't a price of free motivation good enough?
  3. It is adaptable.  You can apply it to everyday activity like walking your dogs, walking to places . . .
