Quote of the Week

dogs, personal blog, motivational blog
Are you too busy to
walk us?
“When someone tells you they are too busy, it's not a reflection of their schedule. It's a reflection of your spot on their schedule.” – Steve Maraboli
“Too Busy” or “I can't” are  abused too often. Often we hear ourselves or others say or start sentences like this when a task is not a priority.

“I am too busy to exercise or to do yoga or to cook (healthy food) so . . ."

Have you caught yourself talking like this recently?

Have a good week.

Med error

Words to live by after making a medication error

  1. It's discouraging to make a mistake, but it's humiliating when you find out you're so unimportant that nobody noticed it. -- Chuck Daly
  2. So then, if you get caught, be relieved. You are the father  important.
  3. But if you caught yourself making a mistake, that is even better. The sooner you realize, the better.
  4. And if the patient did not have injury as a result of your error, that is the best.
  5. Nevertheless, we should all learn from our mistakes.
  6. Norepinephrine is not NEOsynephrine. Duh.

Silly Man

Being a woman is a terribly difficult task since it consists principally in dealing with men.
-- Joseph Conrad

Be a Good One

Whatever you are, be a good one. -- Abraham Lincoln

The Living Tree, miniature Christmas Tree
I may feel little right now, but I want to still look good.

This is my Christmas tree this year, easy to put up.  It is so small, it puts a smile on my face every time I see it, and that is everyday.

Have a good Sunday, everyone. It is a good day for me.  I went to church, the real one, not You Tube, and with my daughter.

Do You Love Your Nursing Job?

If you love your job, you haven't worked a day in your life. -- Tommy Lasorda, American Journal League, Baseball player/manager

Support socks for nurses, breast cancer logo socks

I never said I love my job . . . have I?  I just like it.

Look at me here with my feet up, nursing/breast cancer support socks on. Not all jobs can wear these socks that rock!

The Benefits of Working as A Nurse

Why do I work as a nurse?

  • It pays for my bills
  • It supports my family (teens and dogs included, and other creatures that may be living in my house)
  • I get to help patients and families (this gives me that happy "high"
  • I get to work with wonderful people (a lot of times)
  • I put enough steps (5,000 to 15,000 steps per shift) that I don't have to work out on a work day
