Snow Not Quake

It's seven, it's eight, it's nine, it's ten thirty . . .
My Fitbit watch's time changed but I'm no hurry
There is a winter storm warning since early this morning
It was hard to get up, I was still yawning

Every week my daughter gets her overnight pass
From the treatment facility where she is at
She phoned just now, “are you coming to get me"
I said, it's snowing bad outside, I can't, I'm sorry.

“Okay,” she said and then hang up
I could not say bye, she heard enough
She is upset, I will make it up
Today, instead, I can catch up

I can sing, play with dogs, cooked a one-pot meal
Take my time to do, enjoy, and feel
The pleasure of being alone doing what I like
Without feeling bothered by my worrying psyche

You may have guessed my teens are away
Once again they had wandered and come astray
Both are in youth services now where they can't run
To places where they may do self harm

I get a break, a should rejoice
I should not cry, I have a choice
To be thankful that we are at least safe
We are still lucky, and not harmed by earth quake

And here is what I made today.

This tastes so good--one pot tender chicken meal.

Thank you Lord. Please guide the people in Japan affected by earthquake and aftershocks.

The food looks great. When you can sit back and write poetic lines about the week, the calmness and happiness comes through. Val from My Virtual Vineyard

You mean looks great.

Sorry you're having bad weather, but it's better than those awful earthquakes that are happening.

Have a blessed day. ☺

earthquake is really frightening. I experienced a few in San Francisco, not nearly as bad as they had it in Japan though.

Winter storms. Earthquakes. I wish for more of the weekend I just had here. It was peaceful, with a warm breeze, and sunshine. Warm and start of spring has arrived in Canada. Hoping for safety of all those effected by bad weather and natural disasters.

Your meal looks delicious!
I'm sorry to hear that it's snowing there, that sounds awful!!! I'm sure it's hard for you to have your children away and also a relief to know they are safe. Best wishes...

I hope the snow goes away and the earthquake doesn't come back. It's always so difficult to deal with disappointment and unmet expectations, but when the weather is impossible, there's nothing that can be done!
