Stressful Riding

funny blog, parenting teen, teen driving
We are approaching the second hour of driving instruction of my daughter. She just turned 16 with a new driver's permit. She passed my parking lot driving and parking test, so on to the road we started.

The on-the-road driving is not going as smoothly as when we were in an empty parking lot. Today, she almost entered a one-way street going the wrong direction, and then she almost entered the left lane while looking at the right ride supposedly to make a right-lane change.

I did not yell. I was trying so hard to be a good mom-driving-instructor but I could not help it as I let out a hopeless cry.

Hu hu hu . . . ! “

We missed being killed on what-could-have been collisions. Okay, I am exaggerating but my heart was racing. My shoulder muscles were tensing. And I felt that I was not allowed to blink, for if I do, I am sure something will happen and it will not be good.

Why is everybody speeding?” She was driving on the speed limit of 55 on highway 6.

Oh, that's the bike lane they were saying in the manual.”

Funny those or not new things and she was just realizing.

funny blog, teen drivingBut I realized, myself, that instructing my teen how to drive is very stressful. I need to do more meditation, but not while she is driving of course (when I am not supposed to not blink, wink, or breathe).

It is only January, our first month of instruction. I hope I make it to the end of the year holding my breath.

Happy (and safe) 2016 to you (and my family).

I feel for you. I might have screamed once or twice when my girls were learning how to drive.

I so remember this. We as moms have all gone through this and not breathing is awful I so remember. You'll look back and laugh at this someday. At least I hope you will. Probably when she's teaching hers to drive and her baby does the same thing she's doing now, and now she's complaining to you how stressful it is. That will be funny.

Hope you had a fantastic Silly Sunday and thanks for linking up. ☺
