Stressful Driving 2

poem, teen driving

Writing inspiration from Magpie Tales

Long dark hair with waves done with curling iron
Hair flowing like the waves that looks so beautiful
Her crown is gorgeous it's much like an attire
Covering her slender frame, so small and youthful

Just a few minutes ago her young cheeks were covered with tears
I, the mean mom, screamed at her, not cheer
See, she insisted to drive going home from her game
The drive was an hour long to our home from her ballgame

She was driving too fast on a sharp turn at exit
Perilously close to the cliff, I thought we wouldn't make it
She also drifted to the side on to the right lane without notice
It was not just one occasion, but twice she did “it.”

“What are you doing?! Oh my God.” I panicked, I got frantic
She answered she was sorry, she was daydreaming, she didn't mean it
“I sure hope so, my God, you can't drive this erratic.”
Now I think it may be serious, should I get problematic?

This is not a typical day between me and daughter.
In our first month of driving lesson, she is usually better
Most of the time, she is focused and stayed in the center
Not going over the lane, regardless of weather

 Could she have Attention-deficit disorder?
What on earth is wrong with her?
I should take her to her primary care provider.
Because I'm truly worried about her

(By the way, this is not a real picture of my daughter. If anything, my daughter's only similarity to this lady's image is the hair. My daughter is only sixteen not 26-ish).

If she is staring at me, like she stares at the road, she may be absorb in thought. Maybe try a flat off the busy route lane. When you both calm down, mom should have a talk :).

Teenagers don't quite get that they can die while driving, or doing anything else. I think they feel like they will live forever no matter what. I remember I felt this way for many years. I hope she gets through this soon. I've been in the passenger seat while this very thing happened.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

We all need to be alert when driving as there are too many distractions.

I was just thinking about enrolling her to driving school. But I'm too cheap.
